Katherine + Wes: Indianapolis Engagement Session

Swimming isn't easy. It's a rigorous workout for the entire body that most people can't handle for an extended period of time and in this case extended means longer than 2 minutes. It can however be something that draws two people together and that's what happened with Katherine and Wes. They both still compete which I find very impressive. Not only are they both swimmers they also are engineers! So it is safe to say that they are both smart and in good condition.

We headed downtown for a little urban crawling and not only did we go to the Indian War Memorial, we went inside which for anyone in Indianapolis it is a place everyone should visit. It was a blast walking around with the two of them and can't wait for their wedding later this year!

The Smith Family: +1 - Indianapolis Lifestyle Photography

There were three boys and Melissa in the house. They got pregnant again and now there are 4 boys in the house and Melissa. Henry Smith is the latest addition to this already awesome family who I have photographed a number of times over the years. They are always a blast to shoot and it has been pretty awesome watching Joe and Andrew grow up and if Henry keeps up that smile he had during our session then being around this family will only be that much more enjoyable.

Jillian + Shane: New Buffalo, Michigan Wedding Photography

Genuine emotion is something to be treasured. You know it when you see it; just watch Jillian and Shane when they are together.

The day started off as the bride and groom were separately preparing for the big moment when they say "I Do". Jillian arrived at the ceremony in true fashion via an old Rolls Royce where she went straight from the car to begin her way towards her groom.  Emotions came out in full force and there were very few dry eyes once she started her walk through their literal circle of friends to meet her soon to be husband. Everything about the event was beautiful. The location, details, people, and most of all the couple.

We are so happy for Jillian and Shane and know that our friendship will remain strong as they start their new lives together.

Shane got caught up in the moment when Jillian found her way to him.

Katy + Taylor: West Lafayette Engagement Session

College is a place where a lot of people find love. Both Katy and Taylor went to Purdue which is a big college where thousands of students come and go each year. Needless to say it would be easy to walk right past a perfect mate. Fortunately, these two found each other. It just made sense to have the Engagement Session on the grounds of where it all started. I must say, being a Hoosier with my heart in Bloomington, walking around in enemy territory proved to be pretty fun :)

If one thing is for sure, Taylor can make Katy laugh. He doesn't have to try all that hard at it. That dry, witty sense of humor gets her every time. You can tell by just watching them interact. That laughter and sense of humor carried over from them to me as I snapped away at these two on a beautiful day which had a hint of the fall season to it.

After getting to know them even during the Engagement Session I must say I am excited to shoot their wedding later this year!
