A sincere thank you

2012 has been a great year on many fronts. The biggest one would be the addition of our son Isaac. He has changed our lives and fills a hole that we didn't know was there.

We would also like to send a very sincere thank you to our clients from the past year. Some of you we had worked with in the past and others were fresh faces. Both old and new, we appreciate every one of you and the opportunity you allowed us to get to know you and take snapshots of your lives in 2012. Whether it was a wedding or family portrait, with each push of the button our goal was to grab those moments that you and future generations of your family will be able to look back upon and put a smile on your face. Thank you again for a great year and we look forward to seeing you in 2013.

On behalf of our family to yours we want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy holiday season.

Katy + Taylor - Part 1: Noblesville Wedding Photography

Katy and Taylor like to take things easy. It was obvious they were going to be great to work with and have a great time and that is exactly what they did. It was a wonderful day where all their family and friends could join them as their new lives as husband and wife began.  The minister did point out though that that IU-Purdue game happened to be on the same day and with these two being Purdue grads they may have wanted to watch the whooping of the Hoosiers.

Importance of photography and prints

I recently saw on Facebook a post from a photographer, about another photographer and a blog post she wrote regarding the importance of not only pictures but the value of prints. This got me thinking. I was watching CNN during coverage of the disastrous Hurricane Sandy and as Anderson Cooper was standing in water just below the knee he noticed some photographs wading through the water. He did what he could to pick them up and set them on a nearby car in hopes that they would eventually find their way back to their owner. This made what I do really hit home  and the importance of those moments that are captured in time. For all anyone knows, those photos may be one of the few remaining items that family has left and hopefully they somehow find their way back to their owners. The effect of this is two fold:

1. The emergence of the digital age in photography has made it so that in situations such as natural disasters and people lose everything that any responsible photographer has backups of their work and could potentially have photos reprinted for a family that may go through something as life changing as a hurricane. If unable to obtain digital copies for reprints a photo album or shoe box with pictures may be one of the few salvageable items from a ruined home.

2. The photos that we take can have a lasting impact that reaches beyond the day the pictures of a bride and groom or for a family who may be welcoming their first child. These photos become heirlooms for future generations to look back on.

I love what I do.

Monica + Shelby Part Two: Indianapolis Wedding Photography

The formal portraits ended and the bridal party let loose. We headed into Ft. Harrison Park which is a great spot for wedding photos. There was definitely a slight chill in the air but Monica's monogramed  shaw helped keep her warm while Shelby scooted around! It truly was a great time and these two have a long happy road ahead of them with the support of great family and friends.

Monica + Shelby: Part One Indianapolis Wedding Photography

We knew going into this one that it was going to be a fun wedding. Monica and Shelby were so much fun to work with during their engagement session that there was no doubt that their wedding would be a great time. They did not disappoint. Monica looked beautiful and Shelby was looking dapper and was  definitely wearing a custom suit :)

Monica's family can sing!!

Bagpipes are awesome. Especially when the bride and groom are walking down the aisle!

Stay tuned for part two of their wedding
